Plant Walk and Foraged Tasting with Rachel Alexandrou
Plant Walk and Foraged Tasting with Rachel Alexandrou
Monday, August 14th, 1pm - 3pm.
Join forager and wild food cook, Rachel Alexandrou for an educational walk on how to safely identify and cook with wild edible plants. The walk will last 1.5 hours and will end in a foraged tasting at The Naturalist's Notebook. Stewardship for the land and plants is of utmost importance, we will not be harvesting anything on the walk so just a notebook and writing utensil, sturdy shoes, and a water bottle will be necessary. This walk is great for beginners to foraging, or plant lovers interested in learning about how to incorporate plants in the kitchen. Rachel will provide wild snacks and drinks at the end of class.
Rachel Alexandrou is an artist and forager who uses her education in plant science, and collaborative practice, to create experiential work about food, flora, and innovating human relationships to the natural landscape. She has a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture and a 400 hour certificate in community herbalism from the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine.
